    High-Five Friday - One more full week until the Holiday Break!

    • Congratulations to the Varsity Scholar Bowl Team on winning all three matches last night.   They beat Mater Dei & Freeburg in overtime.  Also, congrats to the JV team for winning 2 out of 3.  Way to go teams!! There will be no scholar bowl practice today.
    • Last night in a home match against Lebanon, Columbia girls bowling teams each notched their 8th win to their only 1 loss.  Heidi Feix led the way with her high game of 255 & team high 599 series & Megan Jones knocked out a 235 game as well.  The boys brought the excitement as both teams raised their records to 12-0.  Blake Gamblin led the JV with a 234 game & a 552 series.  For the varsity, Justin Budde had a 268 high game & a 756 series, which was only 2nd best on the night. The best of the night was Nathan Bostick’s perfect game of 300 & team high Series 782.  This was Nathan’s first ever 300 game!  Congratulations, Nathan!!!  With Nathan & Justin’s high series the team series of 3442 was just short of Monday's team series & good enough to go in the IHSA record book as the 12th all-time high team series.  The bowling teams would love to have some school support today in the West Park Cup Tournament right after school at West Park bowl.  Columbia looks to repeat & keep the Cup over Waterloo, Gibault, & Dupo.
    • BLUE CREW: The basketball team has a big conference game at Freeburg TONIGHT. The theme is BLACK OUT!!!  Be there & get involved!  Don’t let Freeburg show us up!!!!
    • The CHS cheer team is in their first competition of the year on Sunday in the Edwardsville ICCA Invitational at Edwardsville High School.  The ladies are set to take the floor at 3:00 pm, so get out there & support them!
    • Students who signed up to attend Wreaths Across America with Mrs. Pickett need to confirm that you are attending today!  Your parents were sent a google form that needs to be completed before you are able to go.  Meet at the high school at 9:45 AM on Saturday and dress to be outside for several hours. It might be raining so make sure you dress accordingly!  Please see Mrs. Pickett before the end of the day TODAY!
    • Seniors:  TODAY is the LAST DAY! Have you submitted your baby picture fo the yearbook???  If not, do it TODAY, it’s the LAST DAY to do it!
    • With only one full week of school left this semester, please remember to return your library books before you leave for the holiday break next Friday.

    Three Things Thursday - What are your three favorite things to do on a rainy day?

    • The Lady Eagles basketball team improved their overall record to 9 & 2 last night with a 62-43 win over Red Bud.  Sophia Bonaldi led all scorers with 20 points while Lexi Touchette added 16 points & 12 rebounds & Paige Becker chipped in 8 points.  With the win the Lady Eagle's will play for the Championship in the Gibault Candy Cane Classic on Saturday, game time is set for 1:30 pm Saturday.
    • BLUE CREW: The basketball team has a big conference game at Freeburg on Friday. The theme is BLACK OUT!!!  Also...we need to do a better job of cheering and getting in the game.  The Freeburg fan section will show us up!  Get involved!!!!  Thanks to the pep band for their enthusiasm during the games.  Blue Crew could use some lessons! 
    • Any freshman or sophomore who did not pick up their cookie dough/beef jerky order, please see Ms. Vaughn TODAY to pick it up TODAY.
    • A Happy “Howl”iday Supply Drive is being held for much needed supplies to benefit Helping Strays in Waterloo. The drive is being held now through next Friday, December 21.  See the list that was included on Wednesday’s announcement email.  Items will be collected by 1st hour teachers & the class that donates the most items will receive a doughnut party!
    • Don’t forget to donate new or your gently loved clothes to the Key Club’s Clothing Drive Veterans’ Affairs. Clothing does not have to be brand new (but that would be appreciated). All clothing sizes are needed.
    • It’s the CHS Holiday Spirit Week!!! Tomorrow is Ugly Sweater/Tacky Tie Day.

    Wednesday Words of Wisdom - You’re mad, bonkers, off your head!  But I’ll tell you a secret, all of the best people are! ~ Alice in Wonderland

    • The Ice Eagles defeated East Alton-Wood River last night 11-3. Cam Nowak & Eli DeFosset each had a hat trick, Ryan Hofstetter & Dylan Lalk scored two goals each & Logan Taake added 1.  Londyn Little picks up another win in net.
    • Attention FRESHMAN & SOPHOMORES who participated in the recent fundraiser! Items will be delivered TODAY.  Please make arrangements to pick your items up in the cafeteria.
    • A Happy “Howl”iday Supply Drive is being held for much needed supplies to benefit Helping Strays in Waterloo.     DECEMBER 11

    • Leadership 101 Class would like to thank everyone who donated to our Snow-vember Service Learning Project!  We collected 470 items of hats, gloves, scarves and socks to donate to the Monroe County House of Neighborly Services for needy families in our area!  Mrs. Allen's class won 1st place and Mrs. Pickett's class came in 2nd!  We appreciate your support!
    • The girls bowling teams got back on the winning path last night against Wesclin.  Megan Jones led the scores for girls as both the varsity & JV swept their matches.  JV boys kept their unbeaten streak alive as well with Connor Daley’s high game of 205 & Dominic Auer with the high series. The varsity boys also kept their winning streak going behind Seth Harris's high game of 263 & Nathan Bostick’s 720 series.  The team's 3446 team series is a 9th all-time team high series for IHSA state records.  Congratulations Varsity Boys!
    • Congratulations to the Lady Eagle basketball team on their 56-17 win over Madison last night.  Sophia Bonaldi & Aryn Henke scored 13 each while Lindsay Wibbenmeyer added 10 points & Fae Harrell chipped in 8.  The Lady Eagles will be back in action Wednesday night against Red Bud at 6:00 pm in the Semifinals of the Gibault Candy Cane Classic.

    DECEMBER 10

    Marvelous Monday - The future belongs to those who believe in the beauty of their dreams.

    • The girls bowling team came up just short at the tournament this weekend finishing in 2nd place. However, individually, the ladies shined.  Heidi Feix finished 4th in All Kegler team while Megan Jones finished 3rd & Alyssa Terry led the team finishing 2nd.  The boys fell in the semifinal match, but also had individual highlights.  Max Taake finished 4th on the all Kegler team & Seth Harris fiinshed 5th.  The big highlight of the day for the boys’ team was Max Taake.  Max bowled his first ever perfect game……..a 300 game!  Congrats to everyone & especially Max!!
